Stop Downloading 30 Different PDFs
Honestly, searching through massive PDF files on a mobile screen is a nightmare. Unless you need to see if your friend got in, don't bother with the CMAAA 2.0 list download files yet. The "Check Status" feature is way faster.
Here is the lazy way to do it:
- Hit the Login button on the official portal.
- Do not stress about your password. I barely remember mine. Just use the "Login with OTP" option.
- Type in your mobile number (the one you used to apply).
- Once you're in, look at the top card.
If it says "Final Beneficiary," you’re good. Screenshot that immediately.
If it says "Rejected," click on it. It will usually tell you why right there (usually something like "Bank Defaulter" or "Age limit exceeded").

"Wait, which list am I supposed to be in?"
This trips people up every time. There are two separate lists.
If you applied with a standard degree (BA, B.Com, BSc) or just passed Class 10/12, you need to look at the Non-Professional list. That’s the ₹2 Lakh scheme.
You are only in the Professional list (the ₹5 Lakh one) if you have a specific 4-year technical degree—like Engineering, MBBS, or Veterinary Science. If you’re an Arts graduate searching the Professional PDF, you aren't going to find your name.
Okay, I’m Selected. What Next?
First, congratulations. Seriously. Getting through a pool of 1.6 lakh applicants is no joke. But don't go spending the money in your head yet. You have two jobs right now:
- Fix Your Bank Account: The government sends this money via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). If your bank account isn't linked to your Aadhaar, the transaction will bounce. It happens to thousands of people every year. Go to your bank tomorrow and ask, "Is my Aadhaar seeded?"
- Watch for the Training SMS: You can't just take the money. You have to attend a mandatory training session (usually 3 days). You’ll get an SMS telling you where to go. If you skip this, they hold the funds.
It stings, I know. But check the reason. If the portal says you are a "Loan Defaulter" and you know you aren't, you usually have a 7-day window to file a grievance. Look for a "Grievance" or "Appeal" tab on your dashboard. Upload proof that your CIBIL is clean.
